Description

POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings, and other food items prepared in a specific station.

Essential Functions
  1. Prepare all station-specific food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
  2. Maintain high quality level of food production and presentation.
  3. Visually inspect appearance of all food for proper taste, color combination, and overall presentation to maintain appeal.
  4. Check and control the proper storage of product (stocks and sauces needing special attention), and portion control size.
  5. Keep all refrigeration, storage, and working areas clean, sanitized, and in working condition to comply with health regulations.
  6. Responsible for station setup, breakdown, and all necessary prep work.
  7. Store requisitioned food properly from storeroom.
  8. Ensure coolers are cleaned, organized, and locked after work.
  9. Represent the hotel professionally and courteously.
  10. Attend all scheduled department meetings, trainings, and hotel meetings.
  11. Follow all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  12. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
  2. 1-2 years of cooking experience in a similar role.
  3. Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.
  4. Experience with kitchen equipment like slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.
  5. Understanding of recipes, food products, and proper preparation techniques.
  6. Ability to work in noisy, high-interruption environments.
  7. Basic math skills for measurements and portioning.
  8. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  9. Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  10. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  11. Good communication skills in English.
  12. Ability to observe safety and emergency signs.
