Job summary

Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking a full-time line cook to support its dining program. You will execute daily food production, following recipes under the direction of culinary management, and ensure all dishes meet DMNS quality standards.

You will describe ingredients and nutritional information, engage with guests, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen with the 'clean as you go' approach. HS diploma required; 1 year line cook experience; Serve Safe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a line cook in a high volume restaurant/cafeteria setting.
• Ability to pass a required Serve Safe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Executes daily food production ensuring recipes are followed as directed by culinary management.
• Describes served dishes, including ingredients and some nutritional information.
• Engages with guests to positively add to their Museum experience.
• Interacts professionally and courteously with guests and staff.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Keeps workspace and service area clean using the 'clean as you go' method.

Essential Duties

• Executes daily food production ensuring that recipes are followed as directed by the culinary management team. Ensures all food prepared meets DMNS quality
• Knows and is able to describe what is being served, including all ingredients and some nutritional information.
• Engages with the guests and positively adds to their Museum experience.
• Professionally and courteous interaction with Museum guests and fellow staff.
• Achieves and maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times by keeping workspace and service area maintained and using the "clean as you go method".

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a line cook in a high volume restaurant/cafeteria setting.
• Ability to pass a required Serve Safe Certification.

• Able to be standing or walking up to 8 hours in a shift.
