Job summary

Arapahoe Basin is hiring a Cook I to be at the heart of our food court-style restaurants, preparing meals and serving guests with warmth. This entry-level position teaches basics of prep, station operation, and teamwork while contributing to a day worth repeating for every guest.

No prior kitchen experience is required, though it is highly preferred; strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
• Test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently.
• Set up and break down workstation.
• Serve food in proper portions onto receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check temperatures of appliances and food.

You’ll learn the basics of food prep, station operation, and kitchen teamwork while helping create “a day worth repeating” for every guest.**WAGE:**The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Arapahoe Basin’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. Help us do our part with waste removal, including landfill trash, recycling, and composting.* Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in the kitchen.* Other duties as assigned according to manager’s instruction.**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** No kitchen experience is required for the Cook I position, but is highly preferred.* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.* Maintain consistency and quality of similar tasks throughout an 8-hour shift.* Maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times.* Ability to work efficiently without supervision when necessary.* Must provide own, approved, non-slip footwear.* Available to work weekends and holidays.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Use full range of body motion: bend, twist, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 75 lbs.* Stand and walk for 8+ hours.* Navigate stairs throughout your shift.* Withstand high altitude conditions at all times.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.**WORKING CONDITIONS:*** You will work almost 100% of the time in a kitchen in a high-altitude environment.
