Overview

Position Summary: Join our Food Services Team! We are looking for a Prep Cook who will be responsible for preparing and assembling fresh, nutritious meals for participants in our Neighborhood PACE program.

Responsibilities
  • Healthcare cooking experience preferred.
  • Prepare cold menu items for elderly participants.
  • Work on the meal production line.
  • Read, write, and be able to communicate in English.
  • Strong knife skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Arrives on time for shift in uniform.
  • Works with other staff in a collaborative way.
  • Works well when unsupervised.
  • Can move from one assignment to another (multitask).
  • Gather product for production and follow prep instructions or recipe.
  • Completes production list or communicates issues if unable to do so.
  • Cover shifts when department need arises.
  • Dates and labels all food products accurately.
  • Follows food and physical safety guidelines while working in kitchen.
  • Timeliness of meal production is met.
  • Inquires, listens willingly, seeks assistance when necessary, to understand patients, internal and external customers, vendors and other EBNHC staff in order to meet their specific, and attainable, needs 100% of the time.
  • Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • Promote a sense of “team work” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation. Solve problems independently or knows when to seek consultation.
  • Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with all PACE customers according to the ACE model.
Education & Experience

EDUCATION: HS Diploma/GED Required.

EXPERIENCE: Healthcare cooking experience and or culinary school graduate with serv-safe certificate

Skills/Abilities

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Read, write and be able to communicate in English. Strong knife skills and ability to work well with others.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $21.00 up to $30.00 an hour based on experience.
