Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent, ServSafe preferred.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures (grilling, baking, boiling).
• Knowledge of cooking temperatures for various foods (meats, vegetables, desserts).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• One year cooking experience in restaurant, healthcare or hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Establish line for each meal period and prepare plates per resident diets and late trays.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meat).
• Ensure attractive presentation and dress dishes before serving.
• Keep kitchen sanitized and orderly; monitor sanitation schedules.
• Monitor daily temperature logs for hot and cold items.
• Store all food and items properly.
• Check quality of ingredients.

Key Responsibilities Of a Cook
