  • We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time COOK positions.
  • Location: Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center - 1214 Coolidge Street, Lafayette, LA 70503. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules. Hours and days may vary, including rotating weekends. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Previous culinary experience required, preferably in a catering environment.
  • Pay Range: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food following federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality food according to recipes and schedules.
  • Serve meals, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation. Taste all food items.
  • Use ticket procedures during service and maintain records.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas, following food safety procedures.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with production planning, ordering, and record keeping.
  • Report maintenance issues and participate in safety meetings.
  • Maintain good relationships with team members and customers.
  • Follow HACCP standards for presentation, portion control, and temperature.
  • Follow all safety policies, including the use of protective gloves and proper lifting techniques.
