Position

Cook – full‑time and part‑time positions at Spelman College, Atlanta, GA.

Location

350 Spelman Lane Southwest, Atlanta, GA 30314. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule

Full and part‑time; days and hours may vary. Open availability required.

Pay

$17.90 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience required.
• Open availability for full and part‑time shifts.
• Ability to use kitchen equipment and follow HACCP, safety, and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
• Follow ticket collection procedures and maintain accurate service records.
• Clean the kitchen after preparation and serving; maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Store and discard excess food according to safe handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators and storerooms; ensure proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintaining serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Personal commitment to the safety of self and others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including glove use, oven mitts, slip‑resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
