Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our dining services team in Saint Augustine. The role runs from 11am to 8pm, with some weekends, and supports residents, guests, and staff with quality meals prepared from quality ingredients.

As part of the Culinary Team, you will work in a high-volume environment, adhere to standardized recipes, maintain sanitation standards, and contribute to a teamwork-driven kitchen that values growth and reliability.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of culinary experience in a high-volume full-service dining environment.
• Basic knife handling skills and knowledge of quantity food production.
• Ability to lead and coordinate with a culinary team.

Responsibilities

• Set up work stations according to established guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distribute prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistently.
• Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
• Clean and maintain station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

Westminster St. Augustine is currently accepting applications for the position of Line Cook to work on a full-time basis from 11am to 8pm, some weekends. As part of the Culinary Team, this individual will be responsible for preparing quality food using quality ingredients for residents, guests and employees. As a part of the Westminster Family, this position is a vital part of the Dining Services Team.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

The Line Cook must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Communities including:

1. Setup work stations according to established guidelines.
2. Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
3. Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation.
4. Restocks items as needed throughout the shift.
5. Cleans and maintains station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
6. Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Florida SafeStaff certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) or more year’s culinary experience in a high volume full service dining environment.
• Full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data type programs.
• Basic knife handling skills.
• Willingness to provide a leadership role.
