Cook (Full-Time, 10:30am - 7:00pm) - Marlow Manor

NANA Regional Corporation | Anchorage, AK 99501

This Cook position is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods, completion of production sheets, and other associated food service activities in a hospital kitchen. The working hours are primarily 10:30am-7pm, with some shifts starting at 6:00am-2:30pm. The role may require working on weekends and holidays. The facility is located in East Anchorage.

Responsibilities

1. Perform all main line food production duties based on the assigned shift.
2. Review daily needs with supervisors, complete production sheets, and verify supplies.
3. Ensure quality and quantity control in food production and maintain sanitation standards.
4. Assist in supervising and training food service staff.
5. Organize kitchen helpers/assistants for smaller tasks.
6. Oversee food serving areas, ensuring proper stocking and sanitation.
7. Implement proper rotation procedures for food deliveries.
8. Maintain kitchen equipment and storage areas following sanitation, safety, and operational protocols.
9. Support other food service personnel as needed.
10. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
11. Perform other relevant duties to support department or unit success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must obtain a Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
• At least one (1) year of line cook experience.
• At least two (2) years of general food service experience.
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six (6) months of scratch cooking experience.
• Two (2) years of culinary degree or technical school training.
• Ability to instruct and train others and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record for the past three (3) years may be required for some positions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Indoor, environmentally controlled environment.
• Noise level: usually quiet to moderate.
• Work environment is an industrial kitchen within a healthcare setting.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, handle objects, speak, see, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Infrequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
