Job summary

The Northbridge Companies in Westbrook, ME is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team within a Senior Living community. You’ll move between the dining room and kitchen, assisting the Culinary Director to ensure dishes are prepared, served, and cleaned up, while delivering warm service to residents.

You will prep food as needed, talk with residents about the daily menu, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining area during meal service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant or with customers is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Ability to adapt to changing roles and stay positive in busy times.
• Patient and attentive with residents and dining guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in dining and kitchen areas.

Responsibilities

• Prep food as directed by the Culinary Director.
• Engage with residents, share the daily menu, and ensure their happiness.
• Serve dishes to residents in a courteous manner.
• Assist in cleaning pots, pans, and maintaining a tidy kitchen area.
• Keep the kitchen and dining room clean and sanitary following safety rules.
• Help Chef with cooking during meal service.

Job Summary

Your job as a cook is an all-hands type of role. You’ll rove the dining room and kitchen, ensuring any area that needs assistance is helped. Working closely with our Culinary Director, you'll help make sure dishes are made, served, and cleaned up.

Responsibilities:

• Prep food as needed per the Culinary Director.
• Talk to residents in a friendly way, share the daily menu, and make sure they're happy.
• Serve dishes to our residents in a kind manner.
• Assist in cleaning pots, pans, and keeping the kitchen area spick and span.
• Keep the kitchen and dining room clean and follow rules to keep the food safe.
• Assist Chef with cooking at meal service.

Qualifications:

• It's cool if you've worked in a restaurant or with customers before, but we'll teach you if you're excited to learn.
• Be open to changing roles on the fly.
• Stay positive, especially when it's busy, to keep things happy.
• Be patient and understanding when customers have requests or concerns.
• Notice when things need to be clean, helping keep the dining area tidy and safe.
