We are hiring immediately for full-time COOK positions at the University of Portland, located at 5000 N. Willamette Boulevard, Portland, OR 97203. Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items following recipes and instructions.
• Serves meals with proper portioning, temperature, and presentation. Tastes all food items.
• Uses ticket procedures during service; maintains records.
• Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and stores excess food safely.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
• Assists in production planning, ordering, and record-keeping.
• Reports maintenance issues immediately.
• Attends safety meetings and maintains good relationships with staff and customers.
• Follows HACCP standards and safety policies, including proper glove, oven mitt, and slip-resistant shoe use.
