Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking a Cook I to prepare and cook menu items, expedite orders, and supervise junior team members to meet standards. The role requires prior cooking experience and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, creative hotel kitchen.

You will maintain hygiene, follow recipes, manage station setup and breakdown, and ensure all equipment is clean and operational while delivering quality presentations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years cooking experience in a similar position preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
• Must obtain sanitation, liquor service, or food service certifications as needed.

What you will be doing:

What we are looking for:

• Previous cooking experience required, minimum of 3 years in a similar position preferred, Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.


• High school diploma preferred.


• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.


• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.


• Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.


• Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.


• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
