Job Details Job Location: Creekside on Whipps Mill - Louisville, KY Salary Range: $14.00 - $15.00 Hourly

Summary: Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM Management experience, specifically in Artful Dining, for residents, families, and visitors. Demonstrates and promotes SRMMG’s core value of the Golden Rule: treating others as you would like to be treated. Prepares and cooks a variety of food for residents, families, and visitors. Oversees the work of other food service staff involved in the cooking process by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Prepares all food according to the established menu.
  2. Ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of food following standardized recipes.
  3. Assumes responsibility for total kitchen operations and handles all situations in the kitchen according to established policy and procedures.
  4. Always follows departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
  5. Cleans all food service equipment, kitchen, and food storage areas daily.
  6. Prepares suggestions for menu or recipe changes that adhere to dietician guidelines to utilize surplus foods and other supplies.
  7. Oversees proper food handling and utilization to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  8. Creates and maintains a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  9. Responds promptly and courteously to residents' and family members' requests for assistance.
  10. Communicates effectively in a language each resident can understand.
  11. Maintains a safe and secure environment, free of objects or situations that could cause harm or falls.
  12. Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits.
  13. Reports safety hazards immediately to supervisors.
  14. Follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  15. Works as a team with other staff and management to accomplish work tasks.
  16. Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude towards work, policies, procedures, residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  17. Adheres to attendance and call-off policies.
  18. Participates in trainings, in-services, and mandatory meetings.
  19. Wears clean and appropriate attire as per dress code policy.
  20. Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors; refers inquiries to supervisors.
  21. Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  22. May assist in training new employees in dining services.
  23. Shows initiative by seeking additional information and offering solutions without prompting.
  24. Handles special projects or assignments outside regular duties.
  25. Coordinates the work of culinary assistants.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.

Language Ability: Ability to read, comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED, or 1-2 years related experience/training, or equivalent.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, taste, and smell; occasionally sit and climb; must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Work Environment: Occasionally exposed to bloodborne pathogens; reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
