Job summary

Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is hiring a Cook to deliver high-quality meals for patients, staff and guests on a fulltime, 7-7 schedule with every other weekend.

Requires at least one year cooking experience; a High School diploma is preferred, and a Culinary Arts degree is a plus. Benefits include PTO, medical, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability protection, and comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Post offer employment testing (POETs) completed before first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
• In absence of the Manager, supervises the dietary staff, ensuring adherence to facility and departmental policies and proper sanitation, safety and infection control.
• Accepting and understanding both verbal and written instructions.
• Provide high quality food preparation and service.
• Clean and maintain equipment to meet department standards.
• Maintain high standards of quality food production and portion control.
• Demonstrate willingness to help with work that needs to be done.
• Take initiative to identify problems and bring about positive solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
