Job Title: Cook at Riveredge Hospital

We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to work with our Dietary Team in the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as special event meals for patients and facility staff. Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain high standards in the preparation of quality hot and cold foods following established recipes.
2. Assist with special event catering functions as assigned by the Dietary Director.
3. Maintain Service Excellence in all special functions hosted by the Riveredge Dietary Department.
4. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and ordering of all items.
5. Participate in daily food production as needed.
6. Ensure quality and safety standards for preparing and serving food.
7. Work closely with nutritionists to ensure efficient management of special diet preparation and apply any dietary restrictions to recipes.
8. Keep all storage areas clean and free of clutter.
9. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment according to Health Department standards.
10. Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or situations noticed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Previous catering experience required; 2-3 years of food service experience preferred, especially in healthcare settings.
• Reliable with a good work attitude.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Position is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
