Job summary

Artis Senior Living of Evesham is seeking a caring Cook to join our dementia-care community. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:30am to 6:30pm with every other weekend, and starting pay of $19.00 per hour.

You’ll prepare meals, plate attractively, and contribute to a safe, sanitary kitchen that meets state health standards. You’ll be part of a team that values purpose, belonging and joy for residents, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• SERV Safe certification is required or the ability to obtain upon hire.
• Proficient reading, writing and verbal communication in English.
• Experience in senior living or healthcare environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn, prepare, cook and plate a variety of colorful recipes and menu items to company standards.
• Elevate the resident experience by applying your skills to enhance the culture of the community.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary workstation and follow all health department practices and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and share creative ideas for an elevated resident experience.
• May assist with other responsibilities as needed.

The Cook will:

• Learn, prepare, cook and plate a variety of colorful recipes and menu items, ensuring that plate presentation and food quality are to company standards.
• Continuously contribute to the resident experience by showcasing your unique skills and applying your knowledge to elevate the culture of our community.
• Keep assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition and be familiar and comply with all state and local health department practices, safety practices, and infection control practices.
• Participate in dailypre-shift meetings and share your creative ideas with the team to ensure a consistently elevated experience for our residents.
• This position may assist with other responsibilities on an as-needed basis.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• SERV Safe certification is required; or ability to obtain upon hire
• This position requires the candidate to understand, read, write and effectively verbally communicate in English.
• Prefer experience within senior living or healthcare environments, must be sensitive to needs of senior population.
