Saratoga Casino Black Hawk is hiring a full-time Cook in Black Hawk, Colorado. The role reports to the Executive Chef and entails preparing menu items for restaurants and events, ensuring quality, freshness, and proper kitchen sanitation.

The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, basic knife skills, and the ability to stand 8–10 hours. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement

Responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.50 Annually

Nestled in the Rocky Mountains at 8,058 ft above sea level is the city of Black Hawk, Colorado. Known in the mid 1800's for its ample supply of lode gold, this town once heavy with mines, is now home to Colorado's premier gaming district. At the top of the city is Saratoga Casino- Black Hawk hosting 365 slot machines, a variety of favorite table games, dining and gift shop. Saratoga Casino Black Hawk is currently owned and operated by Saratoga Casino Holdings, LLC.

We are now looking to expand our team as we continue to provide the city of Black Hawk with the best guest service and gaming experience possible! Our current opening is for a COOK. This position will report directly to the EXECUTIVE CHEF, and will be responsible for:

• Is responsible for the preparation of various menu items for the restaurants and special events.
• Assumes an active role in quality control of all food items.
• Is familiar with all items in freezer and coolers and assists in ensuring that items are properly rotated to maintain freshness. (I.e., first in, first out)
• Assists in maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the kitchen.
• A general knowledge of the preparation of various food items is required. (I.e., slicing and dicing, portion size, sauces, meat preparation, plate presentation and soups)
• Has a basic understanding and ability to use a knife.
• Ability to prepare eggs according to guest’s preference.
• A thorough knowledge of sanitation and proper food handling.
• Basic cooking methods to assist with making weekly/monthly specials.
• Works with servers to best accommodate our guests.

The successful candidate for this role will possess the following:

• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently.
• Able to stand and walk for 8-10 hours.
• Time management and multitasking a must.
• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
• Previous experience with dishwashing equipment, cleaning and sanitation preferred.

Pay for this position ranges from $18.00-$21.00 per hour
