The Menlo Circus Club is seeking an experienced full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. Candidates should be skilled in food preparation and committed to maintaining a safe, clean work environment. Dependability, willingness to learn, and punctuality are essential. Reliable transportation is required. Evening shifts are necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals for our restaurant and events.
• Follow recipes to measure, mix, and prepare ingredients.
• Cook a variety of foods using different methods.
• Check the freshness of food and ingredients.
• Garnish dishes and ensure timely food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and restaurant staff.
• Foster positive relationships with coworkers, members, and guests.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience, high school diploma, or culinary certification.
• Previous experience in food and beverage service and preparation.
• Experience with hot and cold food preparation.
• Thorough knowledge of food sanitation standards, safety, and health codes.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid California Food Handlers Certificate.
• Availability on weekends and holidays.
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills are a plus.

Additional Requirements:

1. Ability to work standing and walk continuously during shifts.
2. Periodic bending, kneeling, and stretching.
3. Ability to lift and carry at least 35 pounds.
4. Manual dexterity to grasp, turn, and hold objects.

The position requires working holidays, weekends, and shifts longer than 8 hours. Must have unrestricted legal ability to work in the United States.

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, full-time with benefits including medical, 401K, meals, and Employee Assistance Program.

Note: Evening shifts are required.
