Overview

The Menlo Circus Club seeks an experienced full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. Candidates must be skilled in food preparation and understand the importance of maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You are dependable and willing to learn; cleanliness is important to you. You have dependable transportation and are on time for work. Evening shifts required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for our restaurant and events.
• Follow recipes to measure, mix, and prepare ingredients.
• Cook a variety of foods using different methods.
• Check the freshness of food and ingredients.
• Garnish dishes and ensure timely food preparation.
• Keep the kitchen area and equipment clean.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and restaurant staff.
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, members, and guests.

Requirements

• 2 - 5 years of experience in a similar role, a high school diploma, a culinary degree or certification, or equal experience.
• Previous experience in food and beverage service and preparation.
• Experience with hot and cold food preparation.
• Thorough knowledge of food sanitation standards, safety, and health codes.
• Ability to use kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid California Food Handlers Certificate required.
• Must be available on weekends and holidays.
• Fluent English speaking and writing a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work standing and constant walking for the period of a shift.
• Periodical bending, kneeling, and stretching are required.
• Pull, push, move, carry, and lift; at least 35 pounds of force is required.
• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.

The position requires individuals to work holidays, weekends, and more than 8 hours in one workday.

Must have unrestricted ability to work in the United States.
