Job summary

The Residence at Boyertown is seeking a Cook to craft flavorful, balanced meals for residents, working with our Dining Services team to meet dietary needs while upholding safety and presentation standards.

You’ll follow community recipes, participate in daily menu planning, and maintain a clean, compliant kitchen. We value teamwork, reliability, and a compassionate approach to residents, with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior cooking experience in a restaurant, senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices. ServSafe Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and specialized diets.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instruction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable with strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

As a Cook, you will play a key role in crafting flavorful, balanced meals that support the health and happiness of our residents. Working closely with our Dining Services team, you’ll prepare a variety of meals to meet resident preferences, dietary restrictions, and high standards for quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires a commitment to providing consistent, exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a hot kitchen environment.

  • Ability to stand for long periods.

  • Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hot and heavy dishware.

  • Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely, which can include frequent walking, bending, stretching, squatting, and twisting.
