Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The Cook is required to provide superior customer service and food, ensure customer satisfaction to all store patrons, cross train in all areas of the store, and follow all company procedures pertaining to accuracy and accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Ensure efficient and friendly service to all store patrons at all times.
  • Apply proper phone etiquette when receiving call-in orders; afterwards, write out orders to be processed in a legible, accurate, and quick manner.
  • Cook items for each customer accurately while preparing other orders simultaneously.
  • Answer customer questions and resolve customer complaints in a positive manner.
  • Ensure efficient and accurately prepared food while minimizing product waste.
  • Ensure proper cleaning of kitchen equipment on every shift.
  • Ensure inventory is accurately ordered, stored, stocked, displayed, rotated, and counted.
  • Process transactions including cash, credit/debit, coupons, discounts, refunds, etc.
  • Balance till and receipts for every shift, document discrepancies, and maintain a safe and secure work environment for handling cash.
  • Start/End shift according to policy.
  • Stock shelves and face products utilizing First-in, First-Out (FIFO) rotation.
  • Conduct inventory cycle and physical counts, including deliveries from vendors.
  • Clean and sanitize/maintain interior/exterior of store including restrooms.
  • Participate in on-going training as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction and food quality standards.
  • Proficiency with math to solve issues with cash or card transactions.
  • Skills and abilities in the area of promoting and selling products.
  • Skill in working on more than one customer order at a time in a friendly way, and conducting oneself in a calm and professional manner with everyone and at all times.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet legal age requirements of 18 years or older for employment in departments that sell tobacco products and 21 years or older for employment in departments that sell alcohol.
  • Ability to abide by the Lummi Code of Laws and Washington State Liquor Laws for Alcohol and Tobacco sales.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LCC Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
  • Must pass an extensive criminal background check.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in using equipment for tasks including clocking in/out, operating a POS system, handling a handheld scanner, and utilizing other electronic equipment as required by job duties.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education Required: High School Diploma or GED.

Education Preferred: N/A.

Experience: Three (3) months of cashier/customer service experience preferred.

A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree requirement.

Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s license and meet eligibility requirements for tribal insurance. Employees employed by departments that sell tobacco and/or alcohol products must complete Responsible Liquor Sales Class within 90 days of employment. Must obtain a food handlers permit within 90 days of employment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
