The Dietary Aide plays an essential role in promoting health and well-being through nutritious meals.### **Key Responsibilities:*** **Meal Preparation and Service:** + Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or gluten-free. + Ensure that food is served in an attractive and timely manner, following portion control and resident preferences. + Prepare food trays, deliver meals to residents or patients, and assist with food delivery to common areas or individual rooms as needed.* **Dietary Compliance:** + Follow dietary instructions for residents or patients with specific medical needs, ensuring that meals meet their nutritional requirements. + Ensure proper portion sizes and follow meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.* **Sanitation and Safety:** + Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment. + Follow all food safety regulations and facility policies to ensure a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service. + Ensure that kitchen and dining areas meet local, state, and federal food safety regulations.* **Inventory and Supplies:** + Assist in maintaining and restocking food supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed. + Monitor inventory levels and notify the dietary supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.* **Resident and Patient Interaction:** + Provide excellent customer service to residents, patients, and families, responding to questions and special requests promptly and courteously. + Help residents and patients with meal-related needs, such as serving beverages, providing additional utensils, or addressing dietary concerns.* **Team Collaboration:** + Work closely with cooks, dietary supervisors, and other kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of meal service. + Assist with kitchen duties, including food preparation and setup for meals.## Qualifications* **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent preferred.* **Experience:** Previous experience in food service or a healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
