Job summary

Granite Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Relief Cook to prepare meals per the menu and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. The cook will monitor food temperatures, complete required logs, and support daily meal service with attention to dietary restrictions.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, kitchen experience, and Health/Sanitation knowledge. ServSafe certification is a plus, and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in accordance with the menu and dietary needs.
• Monitor temperatures of hot and cold foods and document results.
• Complete logs such as food temperature logs, sanitizer logs and food waste logs.
• Clean storage, prep and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Wash dishes, take out trash, clean dining area and stock items as needed.
• Perform routine deep cleaning of the kitchen area and equipment.
• Maintain health, safety and cleanliness standards for safe operations.
• Interact professionally with clients and maintain boundaries.
• Assist with other related tasks as assigned.

Description

Granite Recovery Center is looking for a hardworking and dedicated Cook that is passionate about delivering the best possible dining experience for our guests and associates.

The Cook prepares delicious meals according to the menu. They follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals in an efficient and timely manner to ensure an excellent guest experience. They are knowledgeable in various ingredients and cooking techniques and are kept up to date on industry trends.

Role and Responsibilities

• Consistently monitors the temperatures of hot and cold foods according to food safety standards and documents results.
• Completes appropriate forms such as food temperature logs, sanitizer concentration logs and food waste logs.
• Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in accordance with menu, recipes, allergies and dietary restrictions of individuals.
• Cleans storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Wash and dry dishes, take out trashes and broken-down boxes, clean dining area and stock items in serving areas as needed.
• Performs routine deep clean of kitchen area including sweeping/mopping kitchen floor, cleaning inside and out of reach-ins, cleaning steam table, fryolator, etc.
• Assists in guaranteeing a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food preparation that ensures safe working practices are followed.
• Maintains professional boundaries with clients and interacts with them in an appropriate manner.
• Any other related tasks that are assigned.
