Job summary

The SMSC Healing Center is seeking a Cook to prepare and produce meals for SMSC Community Members and patients. You will follow recipes, ensure food safety, and support multiple areas within SMSC Food Services, including the Healing Center and Native Harvest Catering.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of cooking experience, knowledge of USDA nutritional guidelines, and a strong work ethic. The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant cooking experience.
• Strong understanding of food safety procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes and standardized procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and deliver high-quality meals following recipes and portion standards.
• Store, rotate, and label food to maintain freshness and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas including sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with SMSC Food Service teams to support multiple units.
• Assist with prep work, inventory, and production scheduling.
