Job summary

You will prepare a variety of food items following menus, safety procedures, and portion controls while working a steady pace in a high-volume kitchen. This role requires reliability and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 18.
• At least one year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior cafeteria or large-volume kitchen experience is a plus.
• Experience with safety procedures typical in a cafeteria environment.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List at shift start and complete opening/closing checklists.
• Set up workstation with all ingredients and equipment.
• Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Follow standard portions, cooking methods, quality standards and policies.
• Store, label, and rotate products per state laws.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food at line stations.
• Understand and prep ingredients; know menu items.
• Handle hot/cold work conditions; multitask in high-volume kitchen.
• Stand for extended periods; perform other duties as assigned.
