Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Columbus, GA seeks a Cook to prepare meals according to standardized menus and dietary guidelines in a hospital setting. The role is non-exempt with a shift from 11:00am to 7:00pm and reports to the Dietary Manager.

The successful candidate will ensure meals are safely prepared and presented, monitor temperatures, and discard outdated items. A High School diploma or GED is required, and prior senior living kitchen experience is preferred.

• Take and record temperature of all foods prepared.
• Discard outdated items stored in walk-in cooler.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and universal precaution policies and procedures when preparing food, cleaning equipment, and performing other daily tasks.
• Perform daily cleaning in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
• Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Dietary Manager immediately.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of the position is to prepare the facility’s food in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility and as may be directed by the Dietary Manager.
