Overview

Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community, is hiring a full-time 37.5 hour cook.

The Cook is responsible for meal preparation to ensure all foods meet dietary needs of residents and comply with health and safety regulations.

The schedule is varied, including days, evenings, and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure meals are prepared and served timely, meeting nutritional standards and dietary needs.
2. Serve food at proper temperature.
3. Follow recipes during meal preparation.
4. Assist in serving meals attractively and in proper portions.
5. Prepare food in advance while maintaining quality.
6. Follow sanitation and safety procedures in the kitchen and dining areas.
7. Handle dishes and utensils according to standards, including sanitizing.
8. Maintain and clean culinary equipment and work areas.
9. Visit residents to evaluate meal service quality and resident satisfaction.
10. Follow food safety protocols for storing and disposing of leftovers.
11. Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
12. Secure dietary items and prevent loss.
13. Participate in staff meetings and training.
14. Ensure availability of utensils for each meal.
15. Maintain cleanliness of service areas before and after meals.
16. Clean pots, pans, trays, waste receptacles, and all kitchen and dining areas.

Qualifications
