Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community, is hiring a full-time 37.5-hour position.

Job Responsibilities

1. Prepare meals to meet dietary needs of residents, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. Follow recipes and serve food at proper temperatures and portions.
3. Assist in meal service, ensuring meals are attractive and meet nutritional standards.
4. Maintain sanitation and safety procedures in the kitchen and dining areas.
5. Handle food and utensils according to standards, including sanitizing and proper storage.
6. Supervise maintenance and cleaning of culinary equipment.
7. Visit residents during meals to ensure satisfaction and address needs.
8. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
9. Ensure all utensils and cleaning supplies are available and areas are clean after meals.
10. Clean kitchen and dining areas, pots, pans, and waste receptacles.
11. Monitor and control dietary item security and prevent loss.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a cook in a restaurant or large-volume food service program.
