Job summary

Norway Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Norway, Maine, is seeking a dedicated Cook & Dietary Aide to join our team. This full-time role offers a mix of day and evening hours and a strong opportunity to impact the lives of our residents through nutritious, tasty meals.

You will prepare meals according to prescribed menus, maintain sanitation, collaborate with dietary staff, and help manage kitchen inventory in a supportive, caring environment that values growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare kitchen experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Able to handle knives safely.
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals following prescribed menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and portion control.

What You'll Do:

* Unique dual role as a Cook & Dietary Aide*

* Full-time 30 hours per week *

* Mix of day & evening hours *

As a Cook on our team, you will prepare and serve appetizing meals while ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met. Your culinary skills will contribute to creating a positive dining experience that enhances the quality of life for our residents.

Rate of Pay

USD $17.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a cook include:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Safe knife handling skills
• Experience operating commercial slicers, ovens, grills, large blenders, etc.
• Ability to follow instructions for the safe use, cleaning and care of dietary equipment, preparation and service areas
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
