Job summary

Norway Center for Health & Rehabilitation, affiliated with National Health Care Associates, is hiring a Cook who also serves as Dietary Aide to support residents with nutritious meals.

The role is full-time, 30 hours per week, with a mix of day and evening shifts. You will prepare meals meeting dietary needs, maintain safety standards, and collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus. Your work will contribute to quality of life for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Safe knife handling skills.
• Experience operating commercial slicers, ovens, grills, large blenders, etc.
• Ability to follow instructions for the safe use, cleaning and care of dietary equipment, preparation and service areas.
• Compassionate and empathetic nature.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious and flavorful meals following prescribed menus and dietary requirements
• Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and portion control
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food storage areas

What You'll Do:

Rate of Pay

USD $17.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a cook include:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
