Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Wisconsin is hiring a production team member to help control cooking levels and inspect product quality. The role supports sanitation and safe operation in a fast-paced plant environment, with teamwork as a core expectation.

• Visually inspect product for degree of cook and adjust Final Cook Control to insure proper cook.
• Grade product according to quality specifications.
• Maintain proper degree of cook.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Sanitize equipment, as needed.
• May assist in departmental cleanup as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

• Apron, cotton gloves, blue gloves, measuring sticks for measuring slices, shite scoop for topping to remove under/over cooked meat.

• The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Vision requirement should be at least 20/40 for near and far vision.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT/TRAINING REQUIREMENT:

• Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection and safety shoes

MANDATORY TRAINING/COMPETENCY TO BE EARNED:

• Proper lifting and PPE
