Job summary

Charlie’s Produce CP Fresh is seeking a Cook Chill Lead to oversee daily production in the Cook Chill Department at our facility. The role is on-site with shift 4:00am-12:30pm and requires weekend availability; candidate will lead production staff, ensure safety, quality, and compliance with company standards.

You will work with QA, supervisors, and other departments, train new employees, manage equipment like kettles and chillers, and monitor HACCP, GMPs, USDA/FDA regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing, preferably cook-chill or ready‑to‑eat.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to lead and motivate a production team.
• Ability to operate industrial cooking and chilling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in hot and cold environments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs cook chill operations, including batching, cooking, chilling, portioning, mixing and packaging.
• Plan, implement and monitor the day-to-day operation.
• Communicate changes and concerns with the team.
• Assigns tasks to production staff and ensures workflow meets production schedules.
• Monitors product quality, consistency, and adherence to recipes and specifications.
• Enforce HACCP, GMPs, USDA, FDA and all food safety regulations.
• Train new employees in cook-chill procedures, safety and equipment operation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, QA and other departments to meet production needs.
• Keep workstation clean and organized, label products, and maintain proper documentation.
• Inventory control and ordering for the next day.
