Job summary

Army Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) on a U.S. Army installation is seeking a cook to support a CACFP-compliant food service program. You will plan and prepare a wide range of foods, manage kitchen operations, and coordinate with Food and Nutrition Specialists on menus and orders.

The role requires adherence to health and safety standards, E-Verify checks, and pre-employment screenings. A minimum of 6 months of related kitchen experience and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs are required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and assists in implementing a CACFP-compliant food service program.
• Performs various food prep tasks: cleaning, paring, peeling, slicing, dicing; grilling, frying, baking, broiling, mixing.
• Cooks a variety of foods including meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, stews, gravies, sauces, and baked goods per recipes.
• Collaborates with Food and Nutrition Specialists to prepare menus and submit orders and purchase requests.
• Assists with on-the-job training of kitchen staff and serves as consultant to youth cooking clubs/health programs; follows risk management procedures.
