Job summary

Aspen Court Care Home is seeking a Cook to join our specialist complex care kitchen. You will prepare and serve high quality meals tailored to individual dietary needs, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, and supporting menu planning.

No late evenings or split shifts are offered, with a consistent routine and opportunities for ongoing training and development. Bank contract with paid DBS, pension, and uniform provided.

Qualifications

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Understanding of dietary requirements, including modified or specialist diets, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive and reliable approach.

Role Overview

As Cook, you will play an important role within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs by preparing and delivering high quality, nutritious meals that support wellbeing and enhance daily life.

You will prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, including modified or specialist diets where required, ensuring high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times. Working with fresh ingredients, you will support menu planning and contribute to a varied and balanced dining experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This role offers a consistent routine and strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in delivering quality food every day.
