The Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, OH, is seeking a Cook/Baker to prepare patient, caregiver, and visitor meals in a fast-paced dietary department. You will follow standardized recipes, plan schedules with staff, and ensure meals meet nutrition and safety guidelines.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and two years of cooking experience with varied menus; preferred training or culinary certification and Ohio Food Safety Certification.

• Confer with dietitians regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines in storage, handling, and preparation of food and in sanitation of the work area.

A caregiver in this position worksdays from 5:00AM – 1:30PM or 7:00AM – 3:30, includingeveryother weekend and holiday.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Review menu and special orders todeterminetypes and quantities of food items to be prepared.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• HighSchoolDiploma/GED

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Successful completion of a formal training program forcooksORthreeyearsofrelated experience

• Successful completion of aCulinaryCertificationProgram

• Ohio Food Safety Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with food preparation equipment.
• Requires a high degree of dexterity to prepare food items as well as plate assembly and garnish.
• Ability to work in an environment with possible extreme temperature change.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish colors used in coded dating system required.
• Exposure to chemicals for the purpose of cleaning and sanitizing.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
