Job summary

Trail Ridge Senior Living Community in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Cook for a full-time role. You’ll prepare meals, follow recipes, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for residents while working with a supportive team.

The position offers competitive pay, a 10:30 AM–7:30 PM schedule Monday through Friday, and eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package; weekend rotation and holiday work are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 2 years of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or similar setting.
• Knowledge of recipes, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
• Prepare a variety of foods including soups, sauces, baked goods, and desserts.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Follow proper food preparation, handling, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with inventory management and daily kitchen operations.
• Work collaboratively with culinary and senior living team members.
• Create an enjoyable dining experience for residents.

What You'll Do

• Assist with inventory management, food preparation, and other daily kitchen operations
• Follow food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
• Work collaboratively with other culinary and senior living team members
• Help create an enjoyable dining experience for residents by preparing quality, appealing meals

What You'll Need

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• At least 2 years of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior services, or similar setting
• Experience with food preparation and handling
• Knowledge of recipes, cooking methods, and food safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
• Must be willing to work holidays and participate in a weekend rotation
