Become a Cook at Aster Place Assisted Living today!

Part-time evening shift!

Join our culinary team at ASC and play a crucial role in preparing and serving delicious and nutritious meals, while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and food safety for our residents.

Key Responsibilities of a Cook include:

  • Follow recipes and prepare food that meets residents' nutritional needs according to menus.
  • Cook or prepare palatable, attractive, and nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
  • Lead kitchen staff in food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storing supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of food supplies, and prepare food in accordance with departmental procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 years of related experience/training, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling (can be earned with ASC).
  • Preferred: Prior experience in institutional or healthcare settings.
