Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. is seeking a Cook Aide to assist with Center-based Food Services in our Early Childhood Development programs. You will help with food preparation, service, and clean-up, ensuring USDA guidelines are followed to provide safe meals for children.
The role emphasizes active supervision of children, maintaining health and safety standards, and contributing to school readiness by supporting families and staff in a child-centered setting.
CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments. Migrant Head Start program provides full-day, full-year program services to children, ages 0-5 years, of migrant and seasonal farm and agriculture working families where hand-picked and row crops are prevalent.
Under the direction and guidance of the Cook or Center Service Manager, the Cook Aide is responsible for assisting with the provision of Early Childhood Development (ECD) center-based food services including, but not limited to, food preparation, service, and clean-up activities. Ensures the center follows all appropriate local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the Food Services component, including USDA guidelines. Promoting school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.
