Discovery Kids is looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Cook/Bus Driver. This unique role combines your skills in preparing nutritious meals and safely transporting children while also providing assistance in classrooms as needed.

As a valued team member, you will ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children by preparing meals, transporting them securely, and stepping into classrooms to support teachers and children when necessary. Job Responsibilities:

Food Service Duties:

• Plan, prepare, and serve healthy, nutritious meals and snacks, accommodating dietary needs and allergies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
• Order and manage inventory of kitchen supplies to ensure availability and compliance with nutritional guidelines.

Transportation Duties:

• Safely transport children to and from school, field trips, or other approved activities using the Discovery Kids vans.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is safe and well-maintained.
• Follow all state and local traffic laws and safety regulations.

Classroom Support:

• Assist teachers in classrooms during breaks, absences, or busy periods.
• Build positive relationships with children by engaging in classroom activities and providing nurturing care.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure smooth daily operations and address the needs of children.

General Responsibilities:

• Adhere to Discovery Kids' enhanced health and safety protocols, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a flexible and positive attitude, assisting in multiple roles as needed.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Food handler certification or a willingness to obtain one (required).

Experience:

• Experience in food preparation or cooking in a childcare, commercial, or educational setting (preferred).
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare environment (preferred).
• Experience driving children in a professional setting (preferred)

Certifications and Licenses:

• Current driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or a willingness to obtain (required).

Skills and Attributes:

• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance cooking, driving, and classroom duties.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age to meet driving requirements.
