Job summary

Winkler Court is seeking a cook to prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety standards. The role requires lifting, long periods of standing, and adherence to health regulations.

The ideal candidate has prior cook experience, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to manage time to meet meal schedules. Experience with special diets is preferred and duties include supporting residents and staff with meals.

Qualifications

• Must have worked as a cook previously.
• Knowledge of health and safety in food preparation required.
• Experience cooking for large groups preferred.
• Experience preparing special diets (low sodium, low cholesterol, diabetic, vegetarian) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals as indicated on planned menus using standard portions.
• Ensures meals are served at scheduled times and organizes prep tasks accordingly.
• Completes cleaning duties after each meal service.
• Follows sanitation checklists to keep kitchen and service areas clean.
• Ensures resident, staff and guest meals are accounted for per procedures.
• Adheres to resident food preferences and reports issues to leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Cook prepares and serves nutritious, attractive meals and maintains the cleanliness of the food production and service areas.
