Ideal must be available between the hours of 2:30pm - 11pm. Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience.

Job Description

The Cook 2/II must be able to prepare food items according to production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. The role requires an elevated knowledge of culinary terminology, all cooking techniques, product handling, and the tools and equipment used in food production.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production standards, per dupe from servers.
  2. Start food items prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare over estimated needs.
  3. Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures for perishables.
  4. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparations, freezer pulls, and line setup. Note out-of-stock items or shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
  5. Return unused food items to designated storage, covering and dating perishables.
  6. Assist in planning and implementing measures to control food costs, waste, loss, and usage as per SOP.

Additional Responsibilities

Knowledge of hotel food safety procedures and hotel safety protocols to ensure guest and employee security.

Educational and Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • California Food Handlers / ServSafe Certification.
Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency in computer software and office equipment.
  • Detail-oriented; comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 2 years culinary experience; hospitality experience preferred.
