Job Description

This role involves essential duties and responsibilities, with some incidental functions not explicitly listed. Primary Responsibilities
  1. Provide exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests, embodying the #AddLife culture in all interactions.
  2. Create and support a motivating environment for Team Members.
  3. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  4. Prepare medium complexity hot and cold foods, including sauces, gravies, accompaniments, and garnishes, following established recipes and guidelines.
  5. Maintain knowledge of advanced food preparation and handling techniques.
  6. Operate, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment.
  7. Adhere to safety and sanitation rules and practices.
  8. Prepare entrees, vegetables, salads, and desserts according to recipes and preparation sheets for various settings.
  9. Coordinate food preparation based on forecasts and headcounts.
  10. Inspect all food sent from the kitchen to ensure quality and presentation.
  11. Perform daily food temperature checks.
  12. Taste all prepared foods for quality assurance.
  13. Complete preparation records and store food properly at the end of shifts.
  14. Clean work areas and equipment, ensuring others do the same.
  15. Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
  16. Ensure food preparation and assembly follow established procedures and recipes.
  17. Understand fire safety and departmental safety procedures.
  18. Follow proper techniques for lifting, equipment operation, and knife handling.
  19. Resolve issues within scope and escalate beyond scope to supervisors as needed.
  20. Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
  21. Keep supervisors informed of relevant activities.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Perform duties in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Prevent minors from gambling, loitering, drinking, or purchasing tobacco.
  • Be knowledgeable of relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Understand the property's programs addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any misconduct or wrongdoing.
Qualifications and Certifications

High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.

Virginia Racing Commission License and Serv-Safe certification are required.
