Job summary

Andaz Miami Beach is recruiting a Cook 2 to join Hyatt's luxury kitchen team. You will prepare and present food across stations in a high-end setting, following recipes and standards for quality and consistency.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and readiness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. English proficiency required; Spanish helpful. A minimum of 2 years in a commercial kitchen is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience cooking in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a luxury resort.
• Must be able to communicate professionally in English; Spanish helpful.
• Must be able to multitask and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and presentation in one or more stations of a large commercial kitchen: pantry, saute, grill.
• Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistent preparation according to guest specifications.
• Participate in cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Assist with proper storage, preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items.
• Assist with food preparation in advance of food service hours.
• Follow all safety guidelines including safe-handling of food items and knife safety.

Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Cook 2 to join the hotel’s team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. What you will be responsible for:

• Follow all safety guidelines include safe-handling of food items, knife safety, safe usage of kitchen equipment, etc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience cooking in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a full-service boutique or luxury resort environment with multiple outlets and concepts.
• Prior experience with computer operations helpful.
• Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in Spanish helpful.
• Must be able to multi-task and display ability to recognize that the team members’ and guests’ needs are always primary. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as business dictates.
