Job summary

Focus Health Network in Montgomery County, Norristown, is hiring a compassionate Cook for our nursing home kitchen. The role supports residents with nutritious, home-style meals on a 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM shift.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with alternating weekends and holidays. As a team member, you will follow standardized recipes, ensure portions are correct, and serve meals safely while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred or obtained after hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/bend for extended periods.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a dedicated and caring cook to join our friendly team in creating nutritious, home-style meals for our wonderful residents.

Shift Available:

10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Full-time and Part-time positions available

Includes alternating weekends and holidays.

Cook Key Duties

• Prepares food as assigned according to standardized recipes to provide resident with consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlines standards, ensuring that the food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items for quality control.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintain standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food- handling procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as they become required.

Cook Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired.
• Ability to lift/carry a maximum of fifty pounds, push/pull a maximum of fifty pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
