Job summary

Hollywood Casino York, operated by PENN Entertainment, is seeking a kitchen team member to support daily food preparation and presentation. You will follow recipes, ensure quality, and assist during service with guests in a fast-paced casino setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of experience, with English reading/writing skills and basic math. Safety, sanitation, and teamwork are essential in this environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from guests and read/interpret safety and operating instructions.
  • Must be able to perform basic math and analyze information.
  • Must be able to interpret various written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, expedites, monitors, replenishes, and transports meats, vegetables, soups, sauces and other food items as indicated by production sheets.
  • Reports to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instructions as daily specials or menu changes.
  • Arranges mise en place according to posted instructions and menu requirements.
  • Communicates station needs, waste and discrepancies with supervisor.
  • Prepares and presents menu items according to recipe specifications and photos.
  • Assists in other areas of kitchen as directed by Sous Chef.
  • Interacts with guests and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Walking 30%, standing 70%, bending and lifting 10%.

  • Must have the ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, verbak, etc.).
  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Working events on the casino floor will require an individual to obtain a non-gaming credential.
