Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf's IronOaks at Sun Lakes is seeking a Cook 1 to join the Food & Beverage team in Chandler/Sun Lakes, Arizona. The role involves cooking, food prep, and serving, reporting to Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef, with a part-time schedule.

Candidates should have at least one year of kitchen experience, a valid Food Handlers card, and the ability to read safety rules, speak to groups, and work under pressure while delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Think, work, solve problems, and make independent decisions with sound judgment.
• Demonstrate initiative and accept responsibility for decisions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Master one kitchen station and take responsibility for personal decisions and actions.
• Ensure superior service standards meet guest and employee requirements.
• Proactively exceed guest satisfaction and resolve challenges promptly.
• Follow cleaning schedule daily to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen.
• Familiar with food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques; read cooking instructions.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits as needed.
• Measure and mix ingredients for soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles.
• Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; adjust temperatures.
• Carve meats, portion plates, add gravies and sauces, garnish to fill orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
