Job summary

Wythe County Community Hospital is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. Under the guidance of the chef/production manager, you will prepare meals for patients, visitors, and hospital staff, while supporting cafe and catering operations within the hospital.

We offer full-time and part-time positions with day, evening, and night shifts. A background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility are required to join our team at Wythe County Community Hospital.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen (fast food, hotel operations, healthcare)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Able to communicate effectively in English and work well in a team
• Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and in uniform
• Preferred: culinary experience in a kitchen or healthcare foodservice

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals for patients, visitors, and hospital staff
• Follow recipes and guidelines to prepare all food items
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow cleaning, sanitation, and closing procedures
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures of the facility
• Assist team members and management to help the department operate efficiently

Wage: $15.00/hour
