Job summary

St. Joseph's Living Center is hiring a Cook to prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and therapeutic diets while ensuring food safety standards are met. The role collaborates with dietitians and CNAs to support resident care.

The position requires 1+ year of cook experience, Serv Safe certification, and strong English communication. Various shift options offered with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ year experience as a Cook in a commercial setting.
• Serv Safe Managers Certificate.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to function both independently and as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and approved food safety and sanitation standards.
• Review menus before food preparation, ensure ingredients and supplies are available for upcoming meals, and help maintain a clean, organized food storage area.
• Follow all safety regulations, infection control practices, and sanitary procedures throughout food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the dietitian and interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, to implement dietary recommendations and support quality resident care.

$21.00 - $22.00/hour, based on experience
Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN
Shift Available: 5:30AM – 1:30PM and 11:00AM – 7:00PM | rotating weekends and holidays
