Job summary

Artis Senior Living in Wilmette, IL is seeking a Cook to join our caring team. This full-time role offers a floating schedule: Tue/Wed 6:30am-3pm, Thu/Fri 10:30am-7pm, Sat 6am-3pm, with opportunities for growth.

Must have a high school diploma and SERV Safe certification or be able to obtain it. You will learn, prepare, cook and plate diverse recipes, maintain clean workstations, and support a resident-focused dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• SERV Safe certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Must understand, read, write and communicate in English.
• Prefer experience in senior living or healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Learn, prepare, cook and plate a variety of colorful recipes and menu items.
• Continuously contribute to the resident experience by elevating the culture of our community.
• Keep assigned workstation safe and sanitary, and comply with all health department practices.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and share your creative ideas with the team.
• This position may assist with other responsibilities on an as-needed basis.

Starting pay is $20 / hour!

*This is a full-time position offering a floating schedule every Tuesday & Wednesday (6:30am-3pm), every Thursday & Friday (10:30am-7pm), and every Saturday (6am-3pm)!

• Keep assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition and be familiar and comply with all state and local health department practices, safety practices, and infection control practices.
• Participate in dailypre-shift meetings and share your creative ideas with the team to ensure a consistently elevated experience for our residents.
• This position may assist with other responsibilities on an as-needed basis.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• SERV Safe certification is required; or ability to obtain upon hire
• This position requires the candidate to understand, read, write and effectively verbally communicate in English.
• Prefer experience within senior living or healthcare environments, must be sensitive to needs of senior population.
