Riverstreet Manor currently has an opening for a Cook! We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic candidates to join our exceptional team of caregivers!

Requirements of the Cook:

• A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is required.
• Knowledge of Healthcare dietary requirements
• Previous experience to cooking is preferred
• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities of the Cook:

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
• Prepare food in accordance for therapeutic diets and special diet orders
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other appliances
• Ensure all food handling practices meet safety standards and food safety management protocols
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment
• Follow food safety procedures diligently, including proper knife skills, slicing techniques, and portion control
